Branwen Ranck
Branwen’s 15-year career has been defined by building lasting partnerships and raising critical funds for local, regional, and international organizations. Prior to joining ELI, Branwen served as the Development Officer for fifteen national and bi-national environmental programs at American Bird Conservancy, where she managed a $10.3 million portfolio and worked closely with program vice presidents to build effective strategies and meaningful relationships with foundations, corporations, and major donors — resulting in a 65% increase in program funding in two years.
Prior to that, Branwen served as Bayou Preservation Association’s Director of Philanthropy and Engagement, where she stewarded the organization's pace-setting collaborative efforts to build support for the Houston-Galveston region's twenty-two watersheds. By deepening relationships with key funders and leveraging extensive partnerships, the organization saw a 24% increase in funding from the previous year and produced bellwether reference documents for key policy makers on the critical role of ecosystem services, water quality monitoring, plastics, and capacity building. Branwen’s early career included field work in the Blue Ridge Mountains where she worked as a Biological Technician for the U.S. Dept. of the Interior’s National Park Service, monitoring groundwater hydrology and discussing environmental federal incentive programs with landowners to reduce wetland dredging practices.
In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science in Organismal Biology from Austin Peay State University and a Medicinal Plants Certificate from Cornell University, she is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and Certified Volunteer Administrator.
